The Henry Mountains were the last mountain range to be explored and mapped in the lower 48 United States. These volcanic laccoliths rise nearly a mile above the immediate surrounding area which includes Capitol Reef National Park, Canyonlands National Park, Glen Canyon National Recreation Area and Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument.
