Upper Two Medicine Lake

Upper Two Medicine Lake as seen from Lonewalker Mountain

Upper Two Medicine Lake is a classic example of a glacial lake in the characteristic U-shaped valley. There is a backcountry campground at the foot of the lake, but traveling cross-country any further than that requires wading in its icy waters along the north shore of the lake, usually to reach “Lone Walker Pass” on mountaineering attempts on Lone Walker Mountain (the vantage point of this image).
